So I did some digging with families of infants and toddlers at Bethlehem Lutheran Church – Twin Cities, where I serve as the family pastor. Of everyone I have talked to, most are happy little families, BUT they are tired. With interrupted sleep, working from home during a pandemic, and no vaccines for kiddos under 5, church is hard to get to even when it is offered online.
In reflecting on parents/caregivers needs and their bandwidth to try new things, Children’s Ministry is offering a Baby Book Club! This new ministry fits in well with Children’s Ministry DIY Sunday School – Kids@Home subscription type class!

The Baby Book Club – Kids@Home is a subscription/ class for infants and toddlers, 6 months to 3 years old, and their families. Children’s Ministry provides the books and shipping at cost for $50 for the year. What do they get?

A monthly book of faith, a small faith toy, and instructions on how to use the book, some baby fun with the toy, and a spiritual practice to try for the month.
Free Version! For families that are interested in a free version, there is a video series for each book and reinforcement of the monthly spiritual practice.
To connect with one another – with either version – there is a monthly zoom gathering the last Tuesday of each month with a pastor, and we will move to in-person to a local park in the summer.
Registration is coming soon on the Bethlehem website. If you have other ways that you provide for the littlest members of your church, please leave me a comment below.
