Good Shepherd Sunday, or maybe it is just “Sheep” Sunday is May 8, 2022 in the Revised Common Lectionary. I love the verse that says, “My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27) How might you make this “Sheep” Sunday memorable? Here are 4 simple ways to do something different:
Order up a sheep for a Sunday! Have a sheep party outside, and ask a sheep to come. Kids loved being the shepherd and the photo opportunities were fun for families. This sheep even went into church for the kid’s sermon.

I Just Wanna Be A Sheep! Kids love this song. Teach them this song during the Easter season and have them sing in worship that day. Have the whole congregation join in on the refrain. Maybe the kids can even make a sheep mask to wear? Check out this to make.
Psalm 23 is a great Bible verse to memorize. Work with a group of students to put one verse of Psalm 23 to memory, and present that Psalm in a new way for worship by students, one verse at a time.
Create a sheep pasture mural! It’s so easy to make!

All you need is some chicken wire and build a frame around it. Our frames are 4′ by 4′ and the chicken wire is framed on both sides. We used strips of fabric to make the pasture scene. The sheep are attached to the chicken wire with Christmas ornament hooks. The sheep are wooden cutouts (something like these), and the kids and adults created their own sheep. We did it as a part of worship.

What else do you have? What will you do?
