I love creating children’s ministry curriculum for a variety of settings—whether it’s Children’s Church, Sunday School, baby book clubs, milestone events, baptism classes, First Communion preparation, or at-home family devotions. What I’m most passionate about is equipping parents and grandparents to nurture faith at home.
This fall, the Children, Youth, and Family team at my church, Bethlehem Lutheran Church – Twin Cities, developed a resource called My ABCs with Jesus—a set of devotions designed for families. While it was originally created for the fall season, we chose to distribute it for the 31 days of October instead. September is packed with Rally Day, the presentation of 3rd Grade Bibles, and the start of the school year, making it a bit too hectic for families to take on something new.
So here is what the My ABC’s with Jesus kit entails:

Devotional Book: Each family will receive a bag with a devotional book that has 31 little stories for the 31 days in October.

Magnetic Letters: Included with the devotional book is a bag of magnetic letters. As kids or families read the story, kids create the word to be put on the fridge. It’s a way to focus each day on Jesus! Plus kids love to play with magnetic letters.

A Magnetic Clip: Last thing included in the kit is a magnetic clip to place the book on the fridge for easy access.
Special thanks to Ann Masica for the layout of the booklet.
