VBS – The Generosity Project

If you are looking for a fun stewardship event to host this fall, check out the Generosity Project here. It is curriculum designed for congregations to talk about money, value, and faith intergenerationally. As a contributing writer to the Generosity Project, the CYF team at Bethlehem and I decided to create a Vacation Bible School program this June built of the project. It was a collaborative effort! To get a glimpse in what we did, check out the VBS – The Generosity Project video. Below, I am sharing the rotations that we did and parts of the curriculum (except the music rotation) in a Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 12 noon format.

Here is what we did:

Community Meeting meets right after the opening to show a video of the story, review the take home point, and announcements.

Outdoor Games:

Community Service taught about the service projects we supported including Beat the Heat kits for Our Savior’s Shelter, local food shelf, and My Very Own Bed.

Summer Science was held outside since many of the projects were messy!

Snack:

Block Party Closing includes music, a puppet show, some kind of fun thing, and the Lord’s Prayer.

Day 4: We went outside for closing music, the Lord’s Prayer, and a candy blessing.

Bringing the Story Home:

Special shout out to Bethlehem’s CYF Team including Ann Masica, Jayn Lindquist, Katie Klos, and Melissa Ramshead for thier work in making VBS a success at Bethlehem.
